Gert Duson & Elisabeth Haldermans:<\/p>\n

Vor einigen Jahren lernten sich Gert und Elisabeth durch einen gemeinsamen Freund kennen, der zuvor am Touareg Trail teilgenommen hatte. Inzwischen sind sie ein unzertrennliches Team und die treibenden Kr\u00e4fte hinter einer Handvoll abenteuerlicher Expeditionen in Afrika, darunter f\u00fcnf Ausgaben der Togo Jungle Challenge und 10 Ausgaben von Herausforderung W\u00fcste Marokko<\/a>. Nach vielen Jahren intensiver Soloexpeditionen und der Teilnahme an humanit\u00e4ren Konvois unternahm Gert zusammen mit seinem Freund Christophe Porteman \u00dcberfahrten von Br\u00fcssel nach Kapstadt in einem Citroen 2CV und von Br\u00fcssel nach Dakar in einem Renault R4. Als Ergebnis dieser Reisen hat Gert pers\u00f6nliche Erfahrungen in 37 afrikanischen L\u00e4ndern gesammelt. Nach seinem letzten Abenteuer im 2CV von Br\u00fcssel nach Kapstadt hat Gert ein Buch geschrieben (mit dem Titel \u2018A strange duck in Africa\u2019; \u00fcbersetzt: \u2018Eine seltsame Ente (ein Slangausdruck f\u00fcr einen 2CV!) in Afrika\u2019) und zahlreiche Vortr\u00e4ge zu diesem Thema gehalten.<\/p>\n

Elisabeth ist eine leidenschaftliche Radfahrerin. Vor 7 Jahren, w\u00e4hrend der Erkundung des Touareg Trails, wurde die Idee geboren, etwas mit Mountainbikes in Afrika zu unternehmen. Dank Gerts Afrika-Kenntnissen und guten Kontakten in Togo und Benin musste es doch m\u00f6glich sein, eine Mountainbike-Challenge zu veranstalten. Entgegen allen Erwartungen hat sich dieses Konzept zu einem der gr\u00f6\u00dften Mountainbike-Events auf afrikanischem Boden entwickelt. J\u00e4hrlich melden sich mehr als 130 Teilnehmer zur Teilnahme an.<\/p>\n

Um einen m\u00f6glichst reibungslosen Ablauf w\u00e4hrend der Reise zu gew\u00e4hrleisten, gibt es ein Team von ca. 30-40 Personen in Schl\u00fcsselpositionen wie K\u00f6che, Mechaniker, \u00c4rzte, Entdeckungsteams, 4\u00d74- und LKW-Fahrer und Physiotherapeuten.
