🛠️ Materials & Technical Preparation

A Reliable equipment is absolutely essential to participate in RocDuMaroc.
Assurez-vous que votre vélo soit en bon état. Perfect condition before departure. The difficult conditions and rough terrain demand reliability, robustness and meticulous preparation.

✅ Before departure – check and replace if necessary

🔧 General bike check – have your bike checked by a professional before you leave.

🔁 Replace all worn or damaged parts.

🚴‍♂️ Tyres – check for wear and tear, cracks, and pressure.

🛞 Wheel set – check for play or damage.

⛓️ Wear parts – chain, cassette and chainrings.

🛑 Braking system – check the brake pads and braking power.

⚙️ Bearings – bottom bracket, headset and hubs.

🔋 Batteries – GPS, bike computer and heart rate monitor.

Technical advice

  • Choose one Rugged VTT capable of withstanding the harshest conditions.

  • Une front fork reduces the load on your back.

  • A Full-suspension mountain bike offers optimal comfort and control on challenging terrain.

  • Ride up studded tyres, with reinforced flanks et une good grip.

Recommended: Vittoria Mezcal 2.25

The tubeless tyres are strongly recommended: less risk of punctures, lighter, allow for lower pressure (and thus less rolling resistance) and offer better grip.Stan's No Tubes)

Please adopt a Correct driving position to ride comfortably over distances of up to 85 km per day.

👉 Advice: When in doubt, always choose Reliability rather than lightness.

  • Tubeless tyre valves

  • Brake pads (minimum 2 sets)

  • Replacement brake pads

  • Saddlebag with inner tube, repair kit and pump CO₂ cartridges are forbidden on aeroplanes

  • Multitool and chain tool

  • Replacement spokes

  • Spare inner tubes

  • 1 set of tyres (Vittoria Mezcal)

  • Replacement chain + quick links compatible with your mountain bike

  • Rear derailleur

  • CO₂ cartridges (in the bicycle box, not in the hand luggage)

  • Small bottle of sealant (“milk”) for tubeless tyres

💧 Hydration & Safety

  • Water bottles + Camelbak A minimum of 4 litres per person

  • Front and rear bike lights

  • Emergency headlamp

⚡️ E-Bikes – More than welcome!

Electric mountain bikes are permitted and perfectly suitable To RocDuMaroc.

Ensure at least an additional battery.
⚡ Des charging points are available in the bivouacs.
🔌 Fully charged batteries can be Staff allowances at checkpoints For transport.
